My name is Juan Carlos Quiroz Marenco, I am 30 years old, I studied Modern Languages at the Universidad Del Atlántico 2003, I finished a master’s degree as a translator (Translation of texts English- Spanish) at the Universidad de Bogota Jorge Tadeo Lozano 2008, I am married with a wonderful woman, she’s a business Manager, she is working in an important company in Barranquilla, and we have been blessed with a gift from above, two darling babies for us to love.

I consider myself as a dynamic, creative, responsible, honest, and hardworking teacher.  I enjoy teaching and I have been working as a Spanish and English teacher for eight years.

I have been working for ITSA language center since 2006 and I founded our English songs festival,

In our English song festival our students can sing songs in English, they enjoy singing and at the same time they expand their vocabulary and improve their pronunciation, as well as they can show their abilities to use their second language, I consider that if our students are motivated, they will be able to surprise us.   This year we will have participants of four cities in our region.

On the other hand, I organized our first Comedy Sketches in 2008 and I participated with my students in a local TV channel here in town (Telecaribe).

Apart from this, I was working as a leader here in my region, since I was chosen as a member of the youth council in the local elections (from 2004 to 2007). When I became a member of the youth counseling for the department of Atlántico, I developed different projects to enhance youth life.

Being in touch with the young population made me gain a new perspective on pedagogical approaches that has benefited my life as a teacher.

On the other hand, I love extreme sports; I love rock climbing and scuba diving.

In my free time, I like reading a good book, or going fishing.
